There's a decent chance an NFL game this Sunday will feature a "pick six." If so, wing lovers might want to head to Applebee's the following day.

The casual restaurant chain is running a promotion through next February's Super Bowl in which guests can get six free boneless wings on Mondays if a pick six—an interception returned for a touchdown, or six points—occurs in any NFL game the day before.

Pick sixes aren't the most common play in football, but they're far likelier than your odds of hitting the Powerball: There have been six through the first four weeks of the 18-week 2024 NFL season, though that includes those that occurred during Thursday and Monday games. (Those aren't eligible for the promotion.)

Dine Brands-owned (DIN) Applebee's—the "Official Grill + Bar Spo✃nsor of the National Football League"—may be getting off light if this year's trends hold. Last season, there were 45 interceptions returned for a touchdown across 18 weeks, or 2.5 per week. Thus far this season,♛ "pick sixes" are occurring with less frequency.

Meanwhile, if you're curious: Of the remaining 14 weeks of regular-season play, 10 Sundays will have 11 or 12 games played, while four will have 13 or more. The final Sunday of the regular season, Jan. 5, will give Applebee's guests the most chances to win free wings, featuring all 16 of the week's games.

To collect, guests must make a $10 purchase at Applebee's "Pick 6 Mondays." The promotion is available for both dine-in and takeout orders.
