The Nasdaq Composite slumped 2.6%, putting the tech-heavy index in correction territory. The S&P 500 dropped 1.8% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1%. Stocks 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:rallied yesterday after the Trump administration announced 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:a one-month delay to tariffs on cars and car parts from Canada and Mexico.🐼
The Trump administration reversed course on tariffs again Thursday when Trump announced he would 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:postpone levies on Canadian and Mexican goods that comply with the 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement until April 2, the day he's set to implement recipro🌳cal tariffs on🃏 all trading partners.
Still, Wall Street is concerned that Trump's tariffs—and the counter-tariffs they inspire—could 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:reaccelerate inflation and slow economic growth across North America. Yesterday's carve out for carmakers offered some relief, but the White House's repeated about-faces have put investors and business leaders on edge and fueled recent market volatility.
Big tech stocks fell across the board today. Broadcom (AVGO) dropped more than 6%, before 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:jumping in extended trading after beating quarterly earnings estimates. Tesla (TSLA) and Nvidia (NVDA) both shed more than 5%, while Meta (META) slid about 4% and Amazon (AMZN) lost 3%. Microsoft (MSFT), Apple (AAPL), and Alphabet (GOOG) all slid 1% or less.
Shares of Marvell Technologies (MRVL) tumbled nearly 20% after the chipmaker's current-quarter outlook 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:fell short of lofty expectations. Shares of database software company MongoDB (MDB) plummeted more than 26% on its 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:disappointing outlook.
Investors on Thursday got a taste of what Elon Musk's government cost-cutting efforts could mean for the labor market. A surge in government cuts 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:sent layoffs soaring to their highest level since July 2020 last month, according to a report from outplacement firm Challenger, Gray, & Christmas.
Those same layoffs aren't expected to show up in tomorrow's 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:February jobs report due to ▨the timing of DOGE's cuts and the Labor Department surveys that inform the report. Still, investors will be watching the report closely 🌜for any signs of labor market weakness.
The 10-year Treasury yield, which is influenced by investor expectations for inflation and Federal Reserve policy, inched higher to 4.3% from 4.28% at yesterday's close.
Bitcoin was down at $89,200 when equity markets closed Thursday. West Texas Intermediate oil futures found their footing at $66.30 a barrel 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:after tumbling yesterday. Gold futures ticked down to ♐about $2,920 an ounce.
The Biggest S&P 500 Movers on Thursday
Decliners:
- A 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:muted earnings forecast from chip company Marvell weighed on numerous 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:AI-related stocks. Shares of data analytics software provider Palantir Technologies (PLTR), which rode the wave of AI enthusiasm to become last year's top 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:S&P 500 performer, fell the most of any stock in the benchmark index, losing 10.7%. The decline extended a recent sell-off for the stock as a 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:regulatory filing showed that CEO Alex Karp intends to sell a significant portion of his stake in the company.
- Shares of Texas-based electricity generator Vistra (VST), which also enjoyed massive gains in 2024 driven by optimism for opportunities to power AI data centers, dropped 9.8%. Fellow nuclear-focused utility Constellation Energy (CEG), which has benefited from AI enthusiasm, posted a drop of 9.4%.
- Netflix (NFLX) shares declined 8.5% after research firm MoffettNathanson predicted a slowdown in subscriber growth for the video streaming giant. According to the analysts, strong subscriber additions for Netflix in recent periods stemmed from the service's crackdown on password sharing, and the streamer is unlikely to continue growing its base of paying customers at the same trajectory.
Gainers:
- MarketAxess Holdings (MKTX), which operates a digital trading platform for 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:fixed-income securities, announced robust year-over-year and month-over-month gains in average daily volume, highlighting strength in emerging markets and 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:Eurobonds, despite softness in U.S. credit. MarketAxess shares jumped 5.3%, securing the S&P 500's top daily performance.
- Shares of agribusiness firm Archer-Daniels-Midland (ADM) added 4.9%, recovering from losses posted over the past week amid concerns about the impact of tariffs on the agricultural industry. Reports that the Trump administration could be considering a 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:carve-out for agricultural products helped drive the turnaround for ADM, and the tariff reprieve announced Thursday afternoon included an exemption for imports of Canadian potash, a key fertilizer ingredient.
- Fastenal (FAST) shares advanced 4.5% after the maker of industrial fasteners and adhesives reported an uptick in daily sales growth for February. Jefferies analysts reportedly highlighted strength in Fastenal's industrial end markets.

Zscaler (ZS) was a rare bright spot for the Nasdaq on Thursday, with shares rising almost 4% a day after the cybersecurity firm reported better-than-expected results and of🥂fered a strong outlook.

Kroger Stock Rises as Earnings B🦹eat Offsets Soft Outlook
Kroger (KR) shares rose Thursd꧂ay as the grocery chain's better-than-expected quarterly earnings offset ꦏa soft outlook.
The company reported mixed quarterly results, with its fourth-quarter adjusted 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:earnings per share (EPS) of $1.14 surpassing consensus estimates from Visible Alpha. Its fourth-quarter revenue of $34.31 billion lagged estimates as did its outlook for 2025 of adjusted EPS of between $4.60 and $4.80.
The results are the grocery chain’s first quarterly report since its proposed merger with rival Albertsons () was 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:called off in December after a pair of judges sided with the 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and ruled that the merger would 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:likely result in lower wages and 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:higher prices as competition in the industry w𒅌ould decrease.
The grocery chain said earlier this week that CEO and Chairman Rodney McMullen had resigned after a probe on his personal conduct, with ဣLead Director Ron Sargent appointed board chair and interim CEO.
Kroger ♕shares are rising more than 2% Thursday, bringing their gains in the past 12 months above 25%.

The company anticipates full-year adjusted 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:earnings per share (EPS) of $2.44 to $2.62 and revenue of $2.24 billion to $2.28 billion. CEO Dev Ittycheria said, "We expect to see stable consumption growth in Atlas, our main growth driver." Atlas produced 71% of MongoDB's revenue in the fiscal 2025 fourth quarter, rising 24% year-over-year.
