General Motors (GM) is set t💦o lay off more than 1,300 Michigan employees in the coming months, the automotive company announced in state documents filed last w🦋eek.

The layoffs are due to General Motors ending production of models including the Chevy Bolt and Camaro. The layoffs affect workers at GM's Orion Ass💞embly facility in Lake Orion, Michigan, and Lansing Grand River Assembly/Stamping plant in Lansing, Michigan.

Nearly all the Orion Assembly reductions were announced near the end of October, affecting 911 workers. An additional 34 layoffs were announced this week following the ratification of a 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:collective bargaining agreement. Layoffs are expected to commence in two phases in January. The Orion plant will be refitted to produce electric vehicles and is 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:e💜xpected ൲to come back online in 2025.

However, in documents filed with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, GM said, in part, "It is possible that placement opportunities in other local GM plants will be available for most, if not all, of the affected employees."

GM expects to reduce headcount at the Lansing facility by 369 employees. While the discontinuation of the Camaro had been announced previously, the details and scope of the layoffs at the Lansing facility, which also produces Cadillacౠ sedans, were𒁃 unclear.

GM shares were down more than 1% at $35.81 in late trading Friday, just a day after they 澳洲幸运5官方⛎开奖结果体彩网:rose 6% on news of layof⛦fs at its Cruise unit.
