The report from Natixis Investment Managers showed that 44% of American Gen Xers, comprising those born between 1965 and 1980, believe it will take a "miracle" for them to retire comfortably. Amid that financial uncertainty, 46% of those surveyed said they accept that they'll have to work longer than planned, while 30% fear they'll need to work after retirement.

According to the report, Gen Xers want to retire at age 60, which is nine years earlier than the expected retirement of unretired 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:baby boomers. Gen Xers also expect a 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:retirement period of 20 years, which is shorter than many re💜tirees experience.

Natixius noted that the Gen X investors have a median household income of $150,000 and median 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:retirement savings of $250,000, which is "hardly enough to carry them over 20 years."

Gen X Worried 𒁏About 🍰Rising Public Debt, Inflation

Another 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:retirement study, released last week by insurance giant Allianz, showed that only 62% of Gen Xers are confident that they will be able to financially support their life plans in retirement. That demographic feels considerably more financially insecure than baby boomers and 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:millennials.

Gen Xers are "sandwiched between baby boomers and millennials, and they’ve been overlooked," Dave Goodsell, executive director of the Natixis Center for Investor Insights, said in a press release. "Now many find themselves caring for both aging parents and ღgrowing children while under pressure to fund their retirement.”

The Natixis survey showed that 75% of Gen X respondents are worried that rising public debt will eat into their retirement benefits, while 62% said that inflation was negatively affecting their ability to save. Over a third of respondents said they are concerned that healthcare costs could wipe out their savings in retirement.
