Mutual of Omaha could be a good choice for smokers, especially older adults. Its prices for a 20-year term policy for 56-year-old smokers are the lowest we found, at $274 a month on average. Its average price for a 30-year term policy for 41-year-olds ($127 a month) is also beꦐlow average.
Guaranteed-issue policies cost more than fully underwritten plans, but they’re often necessary when health issues disqualify you from other options. Mutual of Omaha policies have a few advantages. You can buy as little as $2,000 in coverage🥃 if you need an affordable option to cover end-of-life costs, and the graded period before full benefits start is two years. If you die before that, your beneficiaries will get all of the premiums you paid, plus 10%. For some competitors, the waiting period is three years.
If you die of natural causes during a life insurance policy’s graded period, your beneficiaries only receive your premiums with interest. If the death is accidental, however, the insurer typically pays the full benefit. After the graded period, the policy covers all causes of death.
Mutual of Omaha also lets you apply online, making the process eꦕasier.
One downside is that Mutual of Omaha doesn’t offer as many optional riders to customize your policy,🍸 unlike❀ competitors such as Ameritas and Transamerica.
Mutu🐠al of Omaha was founded in 1909 and is based in its namesake city, Omaha, Nebraska.

To get these non-tobacco rates, your lab test must be negative for nicotine.
Penn Mutual also offers some of the lowest term life rates for smokers, especially for older smokers, who can pay an average of $267 a month. In Investopedia’s study, the average monthly premium for 56-year-old smokers w♉as $300. Penn Mutual’s quotes for 26- and 41-year-olds were also below average.

For variable and universal life insurance policies, you can also buy a 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:long-term care rider, which lets you use part of your death benefit to cover long-term care cost♔s. If you don’t use the rider, your beneficiaries still receive the death benefit, ensuring the policy provides some financial support either way.
Nationwide꧋ has a wide variety of policy types and one of the best selections of riders among the 45 companies ꧑Investopedia reviewed, providing plenty of ways to tailor coverage. It also has a solid reputation, with few customer complaints for a company of its size.
However, Nationwide’s term life r𓆉ates are high for young smokers. A 26-year-old smoker can expect to pay $70 a ꦕmonth for a 30-year, $250,000 term policy with Nationwide, compared to $57 a month with Penn Mutual. Nationwide also lacks online claim processing.
