The United Auto Workers (UAW) expanded the scope of its strike at General Motors (GM) and Chrysler parent Stellantis (STLA), but not at Ford (F), citing progress in negotiations.

Key Takeaways

  • UAW expanded its stand up strike to 38 parts and distribution locations at GM and Stellantis facilities in the U.S.
  • Ford was not included in the expansion as the union reported making progress in negotiations with the automaker.
  • Almost 19,000 UAW workers were on strike as of Friday.
  • Wedbush analysts warned the move could have a sizable impact on GM's EV plans.

At noon on Friday, the UAW said it would extend its ongoing strike to 38 parts and distribution locations at GM and Stellantis facilities across the country. Nearly 19,000 union members were called on to stop working in the UAW 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:stand up strike as of Friday.

Ford was not included in strike expansion as company and union leaders “did make substantial progress in bargaining over💃 the last wᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚeek,” the UAW said in a statement.

UAW President Shawn Fain noted while the union is “not done at Ford,” they do “want to recognize that Ford is serious about reaching a deal.” However, “at GM and Stellantis, it’s a different story," Fain said.

Ford issued a statement on Friday saying that the company is “working diligently with the UAW to reach a deal that rewards our workforce and enables Ford to invest in a vibrant and growing future.”

The strike's expansion could have a "massive impact on GM's EV plans as well as billions of lost revenue/production" Wedbush analysts Daniel Ives, John Katsingris, and Steven Wahrhaftig said in a note on Friday.

In a report earlier this week, Wedbush analysts wrote that Tesla and other EV makers 澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果体彩网:could stand to benefit as the Big Three automakers grappl🥂𝄹e with the impacts of the ongoing strike.
